FEE-ONLY FIDUCIARY WEALTH MANAGEMENT, ONE PATH STOP FROM MANHATTAN, SERVING NEW YORK CITY, WESTCHESTER, AND LONG ISLAND

Wealth management for high-net-worth women in New York.

Fee-only fiduciary wealth management for high-net-worth women in New York: senior executives, partners, physicians, and business owners in tech, finance, media, and healthcare, in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and on Long Island, with equity compensation, a significant portfolio, and one of the highest tax bills in the country, managed as one plan.

You built serious wealth in New York. Now keep more of it, with one team looking at all of it.

Keep more of what you earn with smarter tax strategies.

Between New York City tax, New York State tax, and the federal bill, high earners in the city routinely lose 45 percent or more of their marginal income, before anyone plans a bonus, an RSU vest, or a move across the Hudson. It’s frustrating, until you have a proactive plan.

The retirement side is its own puzzle: a $20,000 pension and IRA exclusion that has not changed since 1981, a state estate tax that starts at $7.35 million in 2026 and disappears entirely once an estate is 5 percent over the line, and a 184-day residency rule the state audits aggressively. We plan year-round across all of it, and across New York and New Jersey: bonus timing, equity vests, conversion years, and where you live versus where you earn. Our guides to estimated tax payments on RSUs and retiring in a high-tax state show how we think.

Build financial security that withstands life's uncertainties.

Your RSUs vest on someone else’s schedule, your bonus lands once a year, and a seven-figure portfolio sits across accounts that are each taxed differently. Nobody is looking at all of it at once. You don’t need more willpower. You need one team accountable for the whole picture, and a partner who runs it with you.

Real moving parts

Equity compensation vesting each year, a significant portfolio across multiple account types, a coming liquidity event, or a retirement transition with too much at stake to improvise.

A New York tax problem

City, state, and federal tax on income and on vests, a $20,000 retirement income exclusion that covers a fraction of what you will draw, and an estate tax cliff at $7.35 million. You want it planned, not discovered in April.

A desire for one accountable team

You want a partner who sees investments, equity, tax, and estate together and runs the plan with you year-round, not a one-time answer.

...then we should talk.

Independent. Fiduciary. A partner who gets the weight you carry.

I’ve spent over a decade in financial planning, and I know the weight that comes with being the one everyone counts on.

My clients are senior executives, partners, and business owners who have built significant wealth in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and on Long Island, and have never had one person looking at the whole of it.

I started Align to be that person: someone who understands equity compensation, city and state tax, the New York estate cliff, and the decisions that get harder to undo the closer you get to retirement, and who brings them into one coordinated plan.

You deserve a partner who sees the full picture and helps you walk a path that’s uniquely yours.

Working With a Wealth Manager in New York: FAQ

We work virtually with clients nationwide, and a large share of our clients are New York professionals in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and on Long Island. Our office is in Hoboken, one PATH stop from Manhattan, but meetings happen over Zoom, built around your calendar instead of a commute.

Yes. City tax, state tax, and equity compensation stack up quickly for New York high earners. Proactive, year-round tax planning, bonus timing, RSU vests, and NY/NJ cross-border questions, is core to what we do.

Social Security and New York State, local, and federal government pensions are exempt. Everything else, including IRA and 401(k) withdrawals and private pensions, is taxed above a $20,000 per-person exclusion available from age 59½, at 2026 state rates of 3.9 to 10.9 percent, plus city tax for New York City residents. Roth conversions are taxable in the year you convert; qualified Roth withdrawals are not.

New York’s estate tax exemption is $7,350,000 for deaths in 2026. If the taxable estate is more than 5 percent over that amount, above $7,717,500, the exemption disappears and the whole estate is taxed from the first dollar at rates up to 16 percent. A Manhattan apartment plus a large IRA can reach that line sooner than most people expect, so we plan for it early.

One team for the whole picture.

Too many high-net-worth women in New York carry complex wealth decisions with too little guidance and too much guesswork.

Without a strategy, it’s easy to miss a conversion window, sell stock in the wrong year, drift over the estate tax cliff, or get hit with a city and state bill nobody planned for.

You’ve built too much to leave it uncoordinated. Wealth management for a New York life means one plan and one accountable team, so the next decade is about keeping it, growing it, and paying less tax along the way.
